yeah that 38mph rating is basically the drone surviving, not the drone flying well. i think of it as two totally different things. mine holds position in high wind no problem but any kind of intention

honestly i just go by feel too and i have way less hours than you probably. but one thing that helped me was practicing in moderate wind on purpose instead of always waiting for calm days. like delibe
so ive been flying my mavic 3 for about a year and a half now and wind is still the thing that messes me up the most. not just the fpv stuff, even just regular cruising around. i feel like i have no consistent rule for when to push through vs when to just bring it down and call it a day.
last weekend i was out at this open field and the gusts were probably hitting 25-28mph on and off, the drone was holding position fine in sport mode but i kept having to overcorrect manually when i tried to actually do anything purposeful with the sticks. ended up with footage that looked like it was filmed on a boat. not unusable but definitely not what i wanted.
is there some threshold you guys go by or is it more of a feel thing after enough hours? i know the spec sheet says it can handle up to like 38mph or whatever but that number feels pretty optimistic honestly
