so ive been flying my mini 3 for about 6 months now and still struggling with getting good shots in bright sunlight. even when i drop the iso to 100 and try to adjust the shutter speed everything just looks blown out or really flat. i know theres probably something obvious im missing but cant figure it out

mostly shooting landscapes around midday when i have time to fly, maybe thats part of the problem? any tips on settings or should i just get an nd filter set

nd filters will definitely help with that midday sun issue. i use a polarized nd8 or nd16 most of the time when its really bright out. also try underexposing by like 1/3 to 2/3 stops and then bring it back up in post, gives you way more control over the highlights

yeah what he said about nd filters, they're pretty much essential if you want to shoot during the day. also golden hour is your friend - i know everyone says it but seriously the light is just so much better an hour before sunset. your shadows wont be as harsh and you get those nice warm tones without fighting the camera settings as much
