random thought but i got into all this because my dog knocked my old gopro off a fence and i started thinking about how to get aerial shots without buying a whole cinema drone setup. one thing led to another and now i have like 4 quads and a dedicated shelf in my garage and my wife has strong opinions about it. never really planned any of this. just curious if other people stumbled into the hobby in weird ways or if most people came in through like DJI marketing or whatever

mine was even dumber, bought a cheap syma toy for my nephew like 6 years ago and then spent the whole christmas flying it myself while he watched. felt bad for about 5 minutes then bought myself a proper one in january. never looked back honestly

I came from RC cars actually. Was into bashing for years and a guy at my local track built his own quad and brought it out one day. I was pretty skeptical at first because I thought fpv looked dorky but then he let me fly it and yeah that was pretty much it for me. Sold two of my basher builds to fund my first proper 5inch setup. Cars are still in the garage I just never touch them anymore.
