ok so i finally went to one of those local club meetups i kept seeing posted about. drove like an hour out to this field and honestly wasnt sure what to expect. there were maybe 15 people there, mix of like retired guys with big gasser planes and then a handful of fpv freestyle guys and one dude with a massive cinema drone. way more chill than i thought it would be, nobody was weird about me being newer to it. did have one awkward moment where i clipped a wingtip on landing and a few people saw but everyone kind of just laughed it off. the gasser guys were super into showing off their planes which went on a bit long but whatever. overall would go back for sure

haha the gasser guys always want to talk about their planes for like 45 minutes before anyone actually flies anything. its a universal constant. but yeah those mixed clubs are actually great because you end up learning stuff from people flying totally different things than you. glad it went well

clipping a wingtip on landing is basically a rite of passage at a club meetup, dont even worry about it. ive seen way worse at organized events lol. sounds like a decent spot, is it AMA sanctioned or just informal?
