so we had like 12 people show up which was great but nobody really planned it out and we ended up with 6 or 7 quads in the air at the same time and the fpv guys were doing their thing on one frequency and then someone had a video feed conflicting and it just got chaotic fast. no crashes thankfully but there were a couple close calls and one guy lost orientation and came down harder than he wanted to. think we just need someone to actually take charge and organize the flight order or something next time. anyone elses club run into this and how did you sort it out

yeah this is pretty common when clubs start growing. what we do is have a designated flight director for each session, just one person whos calling who goes up and when, and we stagger the fpv guys so theyre not all on the air at the same time. took us like two chaotic meetups to figure this out lol. also making sure everyone does a quick frequency check before launching helped a lot with the video interference stuff

honestly the orientation thing scares me, ive come close to that myself even flying alone. in a group setting I can imagine how much worse it gets with stuff moving around in your peripheral. glad nobody got hurt. maybe worth doing a quick safety rundown before everyone starts flying? even just 5 mins of hey heres what were doing today seems to help people stay focused
