so ive been flying for about 8 months now and honestly most of my clips have been pretty garbage but i went out to the coast last saturday and something just clicked. wind was maybe 5-6mph which helped a lot, did a slow reveal over the cliff edge and then a long pull back while rotating slightly and it actually looks kinda cinematic for once lol

gonna try to post the link when i figure out how to share from my google drive or whatever. but curious if anyone has tips on color grading coastal stuff, the blues always look either too washed out or oversaturated when i touch them

coastal stuff is tricky, the sky and water reflect so differently that most LUTs just fall apart. what i do is pull the highlights way down first before i do anything else, then bring the blues and cyans into a range that actually looks real. also shoot in d-log or whatever flat profile your drone has if you arent already, makes a huge difference with that kind of high contrast scene

would love to see the clip when you get it up

yeah post it, always cool to see coast shots. i tried something similar a few months ago and the reveal moves are so satisfying when they work. mine came out kinda shaky tho, was using sport mode by accident for part of it which did not help lmao
