we had a decent little group going for like 8 months, maybe 6 or 7 regulars showing up most weekends to fly at the reservoir spot. then idk what happend but people just stopped showing up one by one, think part of it was winter but also some drama about one guys fpv quad nearly clipping someone elses mavic and things got weird after that. now its just me and one other dude most of the time which is fine but its not really the same vibe. wondering if anyone has tips on keeping a local group together or if this is just how it goes

yeah this is basically the lifecycle of every local group ive seen lol. winter kills momentum and then whatever incident happens becomes the thing everyone remembers. the groups that last usually have someone who basically acts like an unofficial organizer, like actively scheduling stuff and keeping a group chat alive. without that one person pushing it things just drift

near miss stuff between fpv and cinematic pilots is such a common source of tension tbh. different expectations about airspace I guess. hope you can get it going again tho, flying solo gets old after a while
