so we had maybe 15 people show up to the field saturday and i dont think anyone thought about how we were all gonna fly at the same time without killing each other. three of us were on 5.8 and kept getting video breakup, one guy was flying fpv with no spotter, and then someones dji just did a phantom drift right into the tree line. nobody got hurt but it was chaotic. not complaining really it was still fun but we gotta figure out some kind of system before next time. do other clubs do like time slots or altitude separation or something

honestly 15 people with no flight director is a recipe for exactly that. the club i used to fly with had a designated safety officer for any group event over like 8 people, seemed excessive at first b

honestly 15 people with no flight director is a recipe for exactly that. the club i used to fly with had a designated safety officer for any group event over like 8 people, seemed excessive at first but after seeing a few close calls it makes total sense. also the 5.8 crowding issue is just always gonna happen unless people coordinate channels beforehand, theres apps that can help with that but nobody ever wants to do the prep work before showing up
