ok so this is embarrassing but maybe itll help someone else. flew into Morocco last week and completely did not do my homework on their drone rules. apparently you need to get advance authorization from the ANRT before you even arrive and i had no idea, just assumed itd be fine like it was in Spain and Portugal. customs at Marrakech spotted it in my bag xray and that was basically it, they took it and gave me a receipt saying i could collect it on the way out. which i did, so at least i got it back. but yeah lost 6 days of potential footage and honestly it was my own fault for not checking. the rules are pretty clearly listed if you actually look. dont be me

this is why i literally have a notes doc on my phone for every country ive flown in. takes maybe an hour before each trip to look up the actual civil aviation authority website for wherever im going rather than relying on those third party apps because half of them have outdated info. some countries also require you to bring a physical copy of your registration or license.
