can i even bring my drone to Thailand or is it just a nightmare

planning a trip in a few months and really want to bring my fpv quad but also have my mavic air 2 as backup. ive been reading stuff online but honestly its all contradictory and some of it seems super outdated. like one site says you need to register, another says its fine under 2kg, another says certain areas near beaches are just flat out no-fly.

has anyone actually done this recently? what did you end up doing, did you register through CAAT or just kind of hope for the best lol

did Thailand in early. you do need to register with CAAT if youre a foreigner flying there, its not that hard but takes a few days to process so dont leave it last minute. the fpv thing might be more of a hassle because its not registered as a camera drone so just be prepared to explain what it is if anyone asks. stayed away from the beach resort areas mostly because theres a lot of tourist foot traffic and i just didnt want the stress

honestly im skeptical that most tourists actually go through the full registration process. not saying its a good idea to skip it but from what ive heard enforcement is pretty inconsistent outside of like official tourist zones and national parks. that said i wouldnt risk it with an fpv, that thing is gonna get way more attention than a little mavic tucked in a bag
