so we organized this group flight thing for last saturday, posted it on reddit, facebook, sent it to the club email list, even put up a flyer at the hobby shop. maybe 6 people showed up out of like 80 who said they were interested. weather was fine, field was good, i just dont get it. this is the second time it happened and im starting to wonder if its even worth putting the effort in anymore. does anyone elses club deal with this or is it just our area

yeah this is basically universal honestly. the RSVPs mean nothing, people say yes and then something comes up or they just forget. the ones who actually show are your real community though, even if its just 6 people thats still a pretty decent session. we stopped advertising big and started just texting the core group directly and turnout got way more consistent

we had the same problem until we started doing it the same day every month instead of picking random dates. people just kind of built it into thier schedule eventually and it got bigger on its own over like a year
