so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and i cant make up my mind. currently flying a Mini 2 SE and honestly its been great for what i do, mostly landscape stuff and the occasional family trip video. but im ready to upgrade and the Mini 3 Pro feels like the obvious next step except every time i look at the Air 3 i start second guessing myself again.

the obstacle avoidance on the Air 3 seems like a big deal especially since i fly in areas with a lot of trees, but then again the Mini 3 Pro already has APAS and its not like im doing anything crazy. i think my main concern is whether the dual camera on the Air 3 is genuinely useful or just a nice-to-have that sounds cool in specs but doesnt change much in practice. anyone made this jump or gone from mini series to the Air line? would love to hear actual experiences not just spec sheet comparisons

I made almost this exact switch about eight months ago, went from Mini 3 Pro to Air 3 and honestly the thing that sold me wasn't the cameras ? it was the transmission range and how much more stable the footage feels in any kind of wind. The dual camera thing I thought I wouldn't use much but the medium tele lens actually gets pulled out more than I expected, especially for compressing backgrounds in landscape shots. That said if you're mostly doing casual hobby stuff and not trying to sell footage or anything, the Mini 3 Pro is genuinely excellent and you'd probably be happy with it for years. The price jump to the Air 3 is real money and I don't think anyone would call it a bad choice to stick with the mini lineup.

tbh the obstacle avoidance on the air 3 is way better than on the mini 3 pro, the omni directional sensing vs just front and rear is a noticeable difference if your flying in tight spots. i fly near forests a lot and it has saved me probably twice already lol. that alone might be worth it depending on where you fly
