anyone going to the fly-in at Lakewood park this weekend?

  • Members

saw a post on the local fb group about a casual fly-in happening saturday morning at Lakewood park, supposed to start around 9am. dont know who organized it but looks like maybe 15-20 people showing up. i've never been to one of these group things before, not sure what to expect honestly. do people just fly their own stuff or is there like organized activities or races or whatever? also wondering if i should bring my mini 4 pro or if thats gonna look lame next to everyone elses gear lol

dude just go, these things are super chill usually. the one i went to last spring was basically just a bunch of guys standing around talking about their quads and occasionally flying. nobody cares what you're flying, i showed up with a beat up freestyle build covered in zip ties and everyone was cool. bring snacks tho, somehow these things always run way longer than planned

I went to one a few months back and honestly it was a mix of everything - some people were doing circuit practice, a couple guys had long range setups they were pushing out over the fields, and a few people were just hovering around and chatting. nobody judged anyone elses gear. mini 4 pro is fine, i saw someone flying a mavic mini 1 there and that thing is ancient at this point lol
