so ive had my mini 3 pro for about 3 months now and i keep noticing that when i let go of the sticks it kind of drifts a little before it settles. not a huge amount but enough that if im trying to frame a shot it kind of creeps out of position. i always wait for a good gps lock before i take off, usually 12-15 satellites showing in the app. wind is usually pretty light when i fly, maybe 5-10mph at most.

i did a compass calibration last week thinking that might fix it but it still does it. is this just how these things are or is something off with mine? ive seen videos where the drone just locks in completely solid and mine definitely doesnt do that

honestly a tiny bit of drift is pretty normal, especially outdoors. gps positioning isnt pixel perfect, theres always a little variance depending on satellite geometry and interference. if youre in an open area with good sky view and its still drifting more than like a meter or so in calm conditions then maybe worth looking into but what you're describing sounds within normal range to me. also make sure youre not flying near buildings or metal structures, they mess with the compass and can make positioning looser than usual.

have you tried indoor mode vs normal? i know that sounds weird but i switched mine to sport mode by accident once and it behaved really differently on stick release. also i read somewhere that doing an IMU calibration on a flat surface helps, different from the compass one. i havent had major drift issues with mine but i also mostly fly in wide open fields so maybe that helps
