flying in costa rica next month - anyone done it?

  • Members

so im heading to costa rica for three weeks in january and obviously the mavic is coming with me. ive been doing some research on the rules there and honestly its a mess to figure out. from what i can tell you need to register with the DGAC and get some kind of permit but half the sites i find are outdated or contradicting each other. anyone actually flown there recently and gone through the official process? also wondering about national parks because thats where id want to fly the most and i have a feeling thats gonna be a hard no

yeah national parks are basically off limits, got turned away at manuel antonio last year. the ranger was pretty chill about it but made it clear. flew on some of the private beaches though and nobody cared at all. the permit thing is real but i honestly just... didnt do it and had zero issues the whole trip. not saying thats the right move but just being honest
