got a 68 and needed a 70 so im just two points off which honestly makes it worse somehow. i thought i was ready, did like two weeks of studying with the ASA test prep book and went through maybe 200 practice questions. the weather section killed me i think, like the METAR and TAF decoding stuff i could never fully get comfortable with and apparently thats a decent chunk of the test. also there were a couple questions about loading and performance that i genuinely had never seen before and they felt kind of out of left field. anyway i can retake it after 14 days so im not giving up just need to figure out what to actually fix before i go back in

ugh that two point miss is brutal. for the METAR stuff honestly the only thing that worked for me was just decoding real ones every day, like i would pull up aviationweather.gov and just decode random airport METARs until it clicked. there are also some good decoder tools on there that show you what each piece means. the loading and performance questions are annoying because they show up maybe 2-3 times on the test but you gotta know them. look up the FAA weight and balance stuff specifically, theres a few formulas involved. you'll get it next time, 68 is actually pretty close

the Gleim test prep has a bigger question bank than ASA in my opinion, might be worth switching it up before the retake just so youre not seeing the same questions again and pattern matching instead of actually learning. also the FAA has the official question bank publicly available somewhere, i forget the exact link but someone posted it in one of the facebook groups. real questions, not paraphrased versions
