group flights are kind of a mess tbh

so i went to my first real meetup last month and idk, maybe i had the wrong expectations but it was kind of chaotic. like 20 people all flying at once in a pretty small field and nobody really coordinating altitude or anything. almost had a couple close calls. still had fun but i came home feeling kind of stressed out about it rather than relaxed like i usually do when i fly solo. maybe the bigger events are more organized? curious if this is just a small club thing

yeah smaller informal meetups can get sketchy depending on who shows up, bigger sanctioned events usually have a flight director calling out stuff and making sure people arent stacking up at the same

honestly this is why i mostly stick to flying alone, too many variables when everyones doing their own thing. one guy at our last meetup kept flying fpv through the line of sight pilots and everyone was just kind of silently annoyed about it
