so this has been driving me insane for the past few weeks. im flying my mavic 3 classic and it just drops connection randomly. not every flight, maybe like 1 in 3, and it always seems to happen around the same area near my house which is kinda suburban but not like crazy dense. the drone doesnt RTH immediately every time either which is weird ? sometimes it just hovers and reconnects after a few seconds, other times it actually starts heading back.

ive already tried switching from auto to 5.8ghz manually and it actually seemed worse? went back to auto and its a little better but still not great. i dont have any other transmitters running nearby that i know of, neighbors wifi maybe. checked the RC2 firmware and its up to date. the signal bars on the app look fine right up until it drops which makes no sense to me. anyone dealt with this consistently or know what to actually check

the signal bars lying to you right before a drop is actually a known thing, the display kind of lags behind the actual link quality. what does your video cache look like after the drop ? is the feed pixelating or freezing a few seconds before it cuts? that can tell you whether its video downlink or the control link dying first.

also 5.8 being worse in a suburban area tracks completely. you've got 5ghz wifi absolutely everywhere and the mavic 3 is sharing that spectrum. auto mode is usually smarter about hopping away from congested channels but it's not magic. i'd honestly try flying at like 6am on a sunday and see if the drops stop ? if they do, you've found your culprit and its just neighborhood interference. might be worth getting a wifi analyzer app and actually seeing what the RF environment looks like around your house before you chase hardware issues that arent there.

had something similar with my air 2s, turned out one of my neighbors got a new mesh wifi system and the whole block basically lit up with 5.8. switching to 2.4 fixed it for me even though the range isnt quite as good. not saying thats definitely your issue but worth a shot before you start thinking the RC is faulty
