went to my first drone meetup last month and idk it was a bit weird. like everyone was super friendly but theres this unspoken thing where you dont want to fly too close to someone elses bird and then you end up kind of hovering in your own little corner the whole time anyway. felt like i was flying alone but with an audience. maybe im just overthinking it. does it get better once you know people or is it always a bit like that

yeah the first one is always a bit odd honestly. once you go a few times and start recognizing faces it loosens up a lot. we do a monthly thing and by the third or fourth time people are calling out where theyre flying, doing follow shots together, that kinda stuff. just takes a bit to break the ice i think

lol the hovering in your own corner thing is so real. i did the exact same thing at my first one. i was so paranoid about clipping someones quad that i basically just flew circuits around the edge of the field the whole time. wasnt until someone came over and asked about my goggles that i actually started talking to anyone
