finally picked up an EVO Nano+ after months of debating, some thoughts

so ive been going back and forth between the Mini 3 Pro and the EVO Nano+ for like three months now and i finally just pulled the trigger on the Nano+ last week. figured id share some thoughts since i was in the same research spiral a lot of people seem to get stuck in.

first thing i noticed is the build feels really solid for how tiny it is. i was worried itd feel cheap compared to DJI stuff but honestly its fine, like its not going to win any beauty contests but it feels like it'll survive being tossed in a bag. the RYYB sensor is the main reason i went with it over the Mini 3 honestly, low light performance in the evening shots has been genuinely impressive for a drone this small.

the Autel Sky app is... okay. it works, it doesnt crash on me, but its not as polished as DJI Fly. some of the menu layouts feel a little clunky and i had to dig around to find the histogram. not a dealbreaker but worth knowing going in. obstacle avoidance is also a bit more conservative than i expected, sometimes it'll stop when theres clearly enough room to pass, but again, fine for a beginner-ish drone.

anyone else using the Nano+ and found any accessories worth grabbing? currently just using the stock case and wondering if theres a better bag for day trips.

congrats on the purchase, the Nano+ is a solid little machine. i had one for about six months before upgrading to the Lite+. the RYYB sensor really does punch above its weight in golden hour stuff, you'll love it once you start experimenting with manual settings a bit more.

for accessories ? i grabbed one of the Smatree cases off amazon, the medium size fits the drone, controller, two extra batteries and cables without too much rattle. its not a perfect fit but its way better than the stock bag for anything more than just going to the park. also definitely pick up at least two extra batteries if you havent already, flight times are decent but you'll burn through one faster than you think when youre actually out shooting. the ND filter set from Freewell works with the Nano+ and makes a noticeable difference if you're doing any video work.

i went through the exact same debate lol. ended up going Mini 3 because i fly in a lot of areas where the remote ID stuff matters and i wasnt sure about Autel's compliance situation at the time. but honestly everytime i see Nano+ footage i second guess myself a little, the colors out of that sensor are just different in a good way. maybe my next one
