so ive been flying my mini 3 for about 6 months now and i think i finally nailed a shot i'm actually proud of. flew out to the reservoir near my place last tuesday, the light was insane, that golden hour stuff everyone talks about. did a slow reverse pull back while tilting the gimbal up and the colors just... yeah. i dont really know how to describe it but it felt like the first time my footage actually looked like the stuff i see on youtube.

anyone else have a spot that just works every single time for you? also curious if people bother with d-log or just shoot in normal color and call it a day. i was in normal mode for this but wondering if i'm leaving quality on the table

d-log is worth it if you plan on doing any grading at all, even basic stuff in lightroom mobile honestly makes a big difference. the flat profile looks terrible straight out of camera but thats kind of the point. took me a while to stop being scared of it

reservoir spots are underrated btw, something about water reflecting that light just works everytime
