so a buddy dragged me to this informal meetup thing at a big open field outside town, maybe 15-20 people showed up. i was expecting it to be pretty chill but honestly it was kind of overwhelming at first. everyone just starts flying at the same time and theres quads going in every direction and nobody really talks about airspace or anything beforehand, just vibes i guess

i mostly just watched for the first hour which was fine. did get some stick time eventually and one of the guys there helped me tune my rates a bit which was genuinly helpful. but yeah not quite what id imagined, thought it would be more structured or something. is that just how these things usually are or was this one just chaotic

yeah thats pretty normal from what ive seen. the more casual meetups are basically just controlled chaos, everyone does their own thing and somehow it mostly works out. the ones run by actual clubs tend to be more organized with designated flight lines and stuff but the random community ones are just.. whatever lol

honestly the best part of those things is exactly what happened to you, some random experienced flier just starts helping you tweak stuff. ive learned more at meetups than from any youtube video. the chaos is part of it i think, just takes a few times to get comfortable and then it clicks
