anyone else feel like their footage never looks as good as when you were flying

this has been bugging me for a while. like i'll be up in the air and the scene looks absolutely incredible on my goggles or phone screen, then i get home pull the card and its just... fine. not bad but nowhere near what i thought i was capturing. happened again yesterday over this old farm property, the mist was rolling in between the hills and i was like oh this is gonna be unreal. got home and it just looked kinda flat and boring

dunno if its a settings thing or just the way video compression works or what. using the air 2s btw

yeah this is super common and it drove me crazy for the first year. part of it is that when you're flying you're also feeling it, the wind, the altitude, the whole vibe. the footage is just the visual without all that context. but also mist and fog are genuinely hard to expose for, if you underexpose even slightly it just disappears into grey. try bumping exposure compensation up a little when flying in those conditions, maybe +0.3 or +0.7 and see if that helps bring out the texture

honestly i think some of it is the screen you're monitoring on too. tiny phone screen in bright sunlight vs your TV at home are completley different experiences. i started doing a quick preview on my actual monitor before getting too excited or disappointed and it helps set better expectations
