so this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post because im out of ideas. did the IMU calibration, did the compass calibration, made sure i was on flat ground and everything. it still just slowly drifts to the left when hovering, maybe like half a meter over 30 seconds or so. wind was calm when i tested. its a DJI drone, fairly recent, running latest firmware. i thought maybe it was a motor thing but it sounds fine to me. does anyone have any experience with this or is this just normal GPS hover tolerance that im overthinking

half a meter over 30 seconds actually sounds like it could be within normal GPS hover drift, especially if you're not in an area with amazing satellite signal. how many satellites was it locking onto? if youre down around 10-12 it can be a bit looser than when youre getting 18-20. also worth checking if theres any magnetic interference around where you were testing, near a car or metal fence or something. ive seen compasses go a bit off from stuff like that even after calibration. if the drift is consistent indoors it might be something else but outside with GPS it might just be doing its thing

which model is it? makes a difference tbh, some of the older ones were just a bit loose on hover and its not really fixable. my Mavic Air 2 used to do somthing similar and it turned out to just be how it was, never caused any actual problems in practice. if its a newer one though yeah id dig deeper into it
