so anyway went to my first local club meetup last sunday and it was a bit weird honestly. like everyone kind of clustered with people they already knew and i just kind of stood there charging batteries for the first hour. flew a few packs which was fine but i guess i expected it to be more.. idk social? some guy did come over and ask about my quad which was cool but mostly it felt like everyone had their own thing going on. maybe i just showed up to the wrong one or maybe thats just how these things are at first

honestly thats pretty normal for the first time, took me like 3 or 4 meetups before i actually felt like part of the group. just keep showing up and people start recognizing you. ask questions about other peoples builds, that usually gets a conversation going because everyone wants to talk about their own stuff lol

I've been to maybe a dozen of these things over the years and the vibe really depends on the club. Some are super welcoming and some are basically just a group of friends who happen to let strangers show up. Nothing wrong with trying a different group if that one doesnt click. Theres usually more than one in most areas if you dig around on meetup.com or the local RC forums.
