group flights are kinda awkward when everyones on different frequencies

went to my first real group fly thing last month, maybe 12 people showed up which was cool but honestly it got a little chaotic. half the guys were on analog and the rest on digital so nobody could really share goggles or do the whole pass-the-goggles thing which i was kind of looking forward to. also took forever to get everyone to agreee on a flight order so people werent just all going at once. still had a blast but i dunno, felt like it needed more organization or like a designated person to kinda run it. do most fly-ins have someone in charge or is it always just a free for all

yeah most of the ones ive been to are pretty loose, someone usually steps up naturally after the first hour once people figure out the vibe. the analog vs digital thing is a real bummer at group flights, our local club actually started asking people to note which system they run before showing up so we can at least cluster into groups. doesnt always work but helps a bit

honestly the chaos is part of it for me, i dont really want it too organized. but i get what you mean about the frequencies, went to one where a guy was broadcasting on the same channel as me and neither of us realized for like 20 minutes. wasnt ideal
