so i took the mini 3 out saturday morning, like 6am before anyone was around, and honestly got some of the best stuff ive shot so far. mostly just flying over the reservoir near my house and doing slow pulls back over the tree line. nothing crazy but the light was just perfect that time of day.

dropped the clip on youtube if anyone wants to take a look and tell me what they think. im still figuring out color grading so i just did a basic log conversion and bumped the contrast a bit. probably overdid the shadows idk. link in my profile if the mods allow it here.

anyone else find early morning is just way better for this kind of stuff? feels like chasing golden hour in the evening is too crowded and honestly the light goes too fast

yeah morning light is way underrated, everyone talks about golden hour at sunset but the air is usually cleaner and calmer early morning too so your footage is just steadier. cant beat it honestly

ill check the link later when im not on mobile, but pulling back over a tree line with that kind of light sounds sick. did you use any nd filters or just let the camera do its thing?

log conversion on the mini 3 can be a bit tricky cause the dynamic range isnt quite the same as like a mavic 3 or whatever so sometimes people push it too hard and it just looks weird and flat. if you feel like the shadows are off you might just try dropping the d-log stretch a little before doing anything else. just my experience anyway
