ok so this was entirely my fault but still gave me a heart attack. was flying out near the south rim early morning trying to get that golden hour light and i guess i misjudged how far out i was over the canyon. signal started getting choppy and the rth kicked in but it was calculating home point wrong because i had moved from where i launched. ended up hovering like 40 feet above some random ledge for a solid 3 minutes while i figured out manual control again. got it back fine but my hands were shaking the whole walk back to the car. anyway grand canyon footage came out pretty sick despite nearly giving myself an aneurysm

i always refresh my home point every time i move more than like 50 feet, just double tap it and confirm its updated. sounds obvious but its so easy to forget when youre rushing to catch the light. wou

haha been there, the canyon does weird things to gps signal especially in the early morning when temps are changing fast. glad you got it back. also pretty sure flying at the south rim is technically not allowed without a permit so maybe dont advertise that too loudly lol
