okay so this has been bugging me for a while and i cant figure out if its a calibration thing or something deeper. flying the DJI FPV drone (the big one not avata) and when i switch into manual mode it drifts noticeably to the left on roll. normal mode and sport mode feel fine, completely stable. ive done the IMU calibration twice and the compass calibration and it still does it. props are balanced, ive checked that. the motors visually look fine but i havent actually done a motor test through the assistant app yet which maybe i should do.

its not a huge drift, like its flyable but annoying and im worried its gonna get worse. anyone dealt with this on the FPV specifically or is this just a manual mode thing where you have to trim it out yourself. i thought manual mode on this thing was supposed to be fully unlocked with no assistance so maybe thats just how it is on an untuned setup

manual mode on the DJI FPV is genuinely fully acro, no self leveling no gyro correction so any imbalance in the physical setup will show up. first thing id check is whether your motors are actually producing equal thrust ? do the motor test in DJI assistant 2, if one is drawing noticeably more current or spinning slower thats your culprit. also worth checking if the frame has any flex or if a motor mount got slightly tweaked from a previous crash even a minor one. the IMU calibration stuff is mostly for the assisted modes so it probably wont fix a manual mode drift issue.

had something simlar on mine after a pretty light crash, turned out one motor bell had a tiny bit of wobble i couldnt see by just spinning it by hand. only showed up under load. swapped the motor and the drift went away. definately do the motor test first before you go down a rabbit hole with PIDs
