so anyway finally made it out to one of those club meetups my buddy kept telling me about and yeah. it was fun but also kind of overwhelming? like everyone there seemed to know each other and had way nicer gear than me and i kind of just stood around for the first hour not really knowing when it was okay to launch. nobody was unfriendly or anything its just one of those things where theres an unwritten etiquette i clearly didnt know. ended up having a good time once i just asked someone what the deal was with the flight order or whatever they call it

yeah the first one is always a bit awkward, dont sweat it. every club has its own vibe and some are more welcoming to newer pilots than others. sounds like you handled it right just by asking someone. the gear thing is whatever, half those guys are just showing off anyway

omg same experience here lol. stood by my car for like 20 minutes pretending to check my batteries before someone finally came over and introduced themselves. after that it was fine. i think people just assume you know the drill already which is kind of annoying when you dont
