this has been bugging me for a while and i cant figure out if its the tower interfering or something with my controller settings. basically there's a water tower maybe 400 meters from where i usually take off and every single time i fly in that general direction the signal gets choppy and sometimes drops for a few seconds before coming back. everywhere else on that same field is totally fine. ive tried switching between 2.4 and 5.8 manually but doesnt seem to make a difference, both have the same problem near that area.

drone is fine otherwise, no issues at all, its only this one spot. feels like its gotta be interference from whatever equipment is on that tower but im not sure what to do about it. move my takeoff spot maybe? or is there some antenna mod or setting im missing

water towers almost always have cell equipment or radio gear mounted on them these days, its basically free real estate for carriers. 400m is close enough that it could absolutely be messing with your ocusync signal especially on 5.8ghz which is more suseptible to that kind of interference. moving your takeoff point further away is honestly the easiest fix, even 100-150 extra meters can make a big difference. some people do the antenna mod thing where they upgrade the controller antennas but ive never found it necessary for normal flying ranges, more of a niche thing

yeah same thing happens to me near a broadcast tower about half a mile from my usual spot. i just avoid flying in that direction now, not worth the stress. the drone will RTH if it loses signal completely but still not something you want happening over water or anything sketchy
