went to my first ever drone meetup last weekend and honestly i didnt know what to expect. everyone was super nice but theres this weird thing where like 8 people are all flying at once and nobody really knows whos watching whose aircraft in the sky. i was stressing the whole time trying to keep visual on my mavic while also trying to talk to people. do you just get used to it or is there some kind of unwritten etiquette i missed

lol yeah first time i went to a group fly i nearly had a heart attack every time someone called out a low battery because i couldnt tell if they meant their drone or mine. you kind of just learn to tune in to your own aircraft and trust that other people are doing the same. most experienced guys at these things are pretty spatially aware. just dont fly directly over other peoples heads and youre usually fine

honestly same experience here. i think the trick is just picking a slightly different area to fly in rather than everyone launching from the same spot. the meetup i go to regulalry now has kind of an informal thing where fpv guys stay to one side and camera drones do more relaxed stuff on the other end of the field. works out pretty well most of the time
