flying at the coast in portugal - worth the hassle?

so i just got back from a week in the algarve and brought my mini 3 pro along. honestly wasnt sure if it was gonna be worth dealing with the ENAC registration stuff beforehand but man im glad i did it. the cliffs around lagos are absolutely insane from above, nothing like what you see from the ground.

did run into a couple issues tho - there were some temporary flight restrictions around praia da marinha that werent showing up properly in dronelink, only caught them on the official EASA map. so just a heads up to double check the portugese airspace authority site before you fly anywhere near the popular beaches, especially in summer. some of the areas are also nature reserves and they dont mess around with that stuff.

overall tho, totally worth it. just do your homework ahead of time and dont assume your usual apps have everything up to date.

yeah portugal is great for this, went last september with my avata and the light in the early morning around sagres is unreal. i didnt bother with enac registration because i was under 250g but i still checked the geo zones obsessively lol. one thing i noticed is the locals near the touristy spots are pretty used to seeing drones now, nobody really gave me grief.
