so ive been flying my Mini 3 Pro for about 8 months now and honestly love it, but my buddy keeps telling me to upgrade to the Air 3 and i just cant figure out if its worth spending that much more. like the Mini does everything i need it to do for landscape shots and occasional travel stuff.

the main thing he keeps pushing is the dual cameras and the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance but honestly how often do you even use that in open fields and mountains where i mostly fly anyway. and the Mini 3 Pro already has pretty solid obstacle avoidance on the front and back.

anyone actually made this switch and felt like yeah this was worth every penny? or is it more of a sidegrade situation depending on what you shoot

honestly the dual camera thing on the Air 3 is more useful than i expected. the medium tele lens gives you this really nice compressed look for landscapes that you just cant replicate by cropping the wide. that said if youre mostly doing open field stuff the Mini 3 Pro is genuinely hard to fault. i made the jump about 4 months ago and i dont regret it but i also shoot a lot of real estate and the extra flexibility matters there.

if youre happy with your footage and not running into limitations i wouldnt stress about it. upgrade when something actually frustrates you, not because someone else tells you to

the omni obstacle avoidance on the Air 3 is kinda nice when youre flying in trees or tighter spots but yeah for open landscapes it barely matters. i think the battery life improvement is the more underrated thing nobody talks about ? noticeably longer flight times especially in light wind.
