so I've been flying my original Mavic Pro since like 2018 and it still works fine, i've replaced a few props and the battery situation is rough since two of my three batteries are basically toast now. the footage holds up ok for what I do but I've been noticing the noise is pretty significant compared to newer drones and the 4K on it just doesn't look that great anymore compared to what I see other people posting.

I'm not looking to spend a fortune. was looking at maybe the Mini 3 since the price has come down or maybe stretch to a Mini 4 Pro. i mainly shoot real estate stuff on the side and some personal flying. I know people will probably say just get the newest thing but i'm also not sure the jump is worth it if the mini 3 is already a massive upgrade from my old setup. has anyone come from a similar place and can compare what the actual day to day difference felt like

Coming from the original Mavic Pro the jump to literally anything recent is going to feel enormous, like you might actually laugh when you first fly something newer. The Mini 3 is a great drone and the price right now is really good value but if real estate is part of what you do I'd push the budget to the Mini 4 Pro just for the obstacle avoidance upgrade ? shooting around houses and structures is where that actually earns its keep. Had a close call with a powerline I didn't see once and now I won't fly without it being on.

The noise reduction on the newer minis is also really noticeable, clients who've seen me fly have commented on it which is kind of funny but it does matter for that kind of work.

i came from an old phantom 3 not a mavic pro but same general era and yeah man the difference is wild. the newer image processing alone is worth it, the way it handles exposure is just smarter out of the box. mini 3 pro would prpbably be totally fine for what you're doing, dont overthink it too much
